Practical Support When Your Homeschool Feels Stuck

Homeschooling can be deeply rewarding, but it can also become overwhelming when something is not working.

If your child is resisting schoolwork, progress feels slow, or your days feel harder than they should, you may simply need a clearer plan.

This consultation is designed to help you step back, understand what is really happening, and move forward with practical strategies that support both you and your child.

Common Reasons Families Reach Out

Many of the families I work with are thoughtful parents who want to do what is best for their children but feel unsure about their next step.

You may be experiencing things like:

• Frequent resistance to schoolwork
• Slow progress in reading, writing, or math
• Difficulty maintaining focus or completing tasks
• Uncertainty about whether your curriculum is the right fit
• Homeschool days that feel longer and more stressful than expected

These challenges are common, especially during the elementary years. Often a few thoughtful adjustments can make a meaningful difference.

What We Do During a Consultation

This is a one-on-one virtual meeting where we take a close look at your homeschool and identify practical solutions.

During our time together we will:

• Talk through your biggest concerns
• Identify patterns in your child’s learning and behavior
• Evaluate your current curriculum and routines
• Clarify where adjustments may help
• Develop strategies you can begin implementing right away

The goal is not to overhaul everything. The goal is to identify the changes that will have the greatest impact.

Who This Consultation Is For

I primarily work with families homeschooling children in Kindergarten through 6th grade.

This consultation can be especially helpful if your child:

• Struggles with reading, writing, or math progress
• Has difficulty staying focused or completing work
• Frequently resists or shuts down during lessons
• Needs structure that better supports their learning style

Many families find that once learning expectations, routines, and teaching strategies align more closely with their child’s needs, homeschool becomes much calmer and more productive.

What the Process Looks Like

  • 1. Complete a Short Questionnaire

After scheduling, you will receive a brief intake form. This helps me understand your child’s strengths, challenges, and current homeschool routine before we meet.

  • 2. Meet Virtually

During our consultation we will discuss what is happening in your homeschool and work through strategies tailored to your child and your family.

  • 3. Receive Your Written Action Plan

Within 24 hours, you will receive a summary of our conversation that includes:

    • Key insights from our discussion
    • Clear action steps to implement
    • Suggested adjustments for your homeschool routine
    • Optional resources that may support your next steps

This allows you to refer back to the plan as you begin implementing changes.

Why Families Choose to Work With Me

Before working in homeschool consulting, I spent years in education supporting students with a wide range of learning needs. As a special educator, tutor, and homeschool parent myself, I understand both the academic and practical realities families face. My approach focuses on helping parents create systems that are realistic, sustainable, and aligned with how their child learns best. Small adjustments made with intention often lead to meaningful progress.

FAQs

What age range do you typically work with?

1

I specialize in working with elementary-aged learners, typically Kindergarten through 6th grade. This is the stage when many homeschool families are building foundational reading, writing, and math skills, and small adjustments in approach can make a meaningful difference

Do I need to change my curriculum before meeting with you?

2

No. Please come exactly as you are. During the consultation we will look at how your current materials are working for your child and determine whether adjustments are needed. In many cases, small changes to structure or teaching approach can make an existing curriculum work much better.

What if I am not sure what the problem is?

3

That is completely fine. Many parents come to the consultation because something feels off but they cannot clearly identify why. Part of our conversation will focus on identifying patterns and narrowing down the root cause of the challenges you are seeing.

How can I contact you?

4

You can reach us anytime via our contact page or email. We aim to respond quickly—usually within one business day. Within 24 hours of the consultation you will receive a written summary that includes key insights from our discussion and practical action steps you can begin implementing right away. Some families benefit from a follow-up session after implementing changes for a few weeks. This allows us to review progress and refine strategies if needed.
